Is OnCut really free? Is there a watermark?
Yes, it is free. There is no account or sign-in, and exported videos have no watermark.
Can I use it instead of CapCut?
OnCut covers the core editing flow on its own: cutting and splitting, Korean and variety-show captions, filters, effects and transitions, 9:16 Shorts projects and H.264/HEVC export. It uses the same shortcuts as CapCut — Ctrl+B to split, Q/W to delete before/after — so your hands already know it.
Does it work offline? Is my video uploaded?
Editing and export run on your PC and nothing is uploaded to a cloud. The AI assistant runs inside your PC with a local AI (Ollama); with API-key or CLI sign-in modes, your editing requests go to that AI service.
What can the AI assistant do?
